My boys were 3 and 4 at the time. I didn't think my 3 year old would use it since he was only going down the hill with Mom at that point. He liked the bright colors and the handles, and immediately proclaimed that it was his "Race Sled". He jumped on it and rode to the bottom of the hill and had a great time. It seemed very stable and controllable for him. I heard several of the larger kids comment on how cool that kid's tube was.I am 5'10" and weight 175 pounds and should probably not be on it, but it handles me well. Unlike the foam or plastic toboggans, the air-filled Gizmo cushions the ride and keeps the fun going longer. The bottom is a thicker, more durable material with ridges. This seems very tough and the ridges keep the tube tracking straight down the hill. You can even steer it some by shifting your weight. His fears have always outweighed his excitement. Santa brought this product and had it sitting inflated by his stocking...Boom!!! He was excited. While there was still some coaxing at the hill, once he made his first run he became a sledding machine. It's cool looking but not too fast. The upright riding position is great for confidence too. Plus the he gets a lot of compliments on it from other kids and parents.The rope at the front is a waste of time, since my son prefers to just carry it up by the handle and the rope was constantly falling over the front causing the sled to go slower. Not sure what the one reviewer was complaining about. All three of my kids ( girls, 8 & 10) have riden it and I haven't seen it tip over yet. Great product.
