We outgrew a similar style sled that was smaller in size, but this "King" size sled is everything that is promised. We spent an entire day riding the sled with teenagers and adults ranging in weight from 150-225 pounds. The heavyduty frame certainly withstood our punishing rides. I highly recommend this sled for all. Apparently Indestructable, By This review is from: Stiga King Snow Racer (Sports) I'm 200 lbs and along with other people even heavier have jumped, rolled and wrecked my stiga king on a fast humpy slope many times with absolutely no damage.It has incredibly responsive steering, the sled will sometimes jerk out from underneath my butt if I don't push myself sideways with the opposite foot before I turn, but because of its wide/low stance, it isn't tippy. The front ski is spring loaded to keep it in firm contact with the snow and I pumped some grease into the headset when I assembled it to minimize wear. It can be a strain on the knees because you're squatting so low. Having my face above the snow spray on virgin powder is a big plus though it piles up in my crotch. Once the littler kids show up it's a challenge to keep them sharing fairly. The steering's probably a little too sensitive for the youngest ones and they go off jerking side to side and dump it when they hit some bumps. We made the selfish one pull it back... Read more |
